Bring the Fear
From a Maerchenhaft Farmer
A farmer has sent in a heartfelt plea for help regarding his youngest son. During the heavy winters three years ago, his son took cold, and ever since has been acting a little... reckless. He doesn't appear to fear anything anymore, and it's led to his parents being concerned he'll get himself killed for the lack of common sense he also suffers, now a strong young sixteen year old. Please help put the fear back in this young man.
Curse Attained: The freezing of one or more emotions.
Pearls Before Swine
From Maerchenhaft City
A young merchant sailor in the city has been cursed by a mer of unknown origins, left with a riddle and the ability to cry nothing but imperfect pearls. He's asking for help breaking the curse, and offers the riddle as a means of solving his crises.
Curse Attained: Bodily fluids (tears, blood) become gemstones of some kind upon leaving the body.
Princess Defense
From Kaurankia Land, in the United Hordes of Lohra
The Dvergar (akin to dwarves) of Kaurankia Land's leaders' daughter has been repeatedly stolen away in the night by giant dogs, returned by dawn. The young woman being spirited away is requesting assistance in stopping the one responsible. Her fathers heavily second this request.
Curse Attained: The ability to take on domesticated canine features, to turn into a canine, or to speak canine.
Shoemaker's Concerns
From Maerchenhaft City
Several custom shoemakers are reporting issues with materials being taken out of stores and stitched into shoes patterned after hooves. They would like those responsible stopped.
Curse Attained: Compulsive urge to create.
Haunted Garden
From Maerchenhaft City
An older family in the city is claiming to be cursed by the ghost of a cat, stating this ghost is responsible for any number of accidents that have occurred over the last five years. Please get to the bottom of this and solve the garden haunting!
Curse Attained: Astral projections into memory.

It started with parts of their gardens dying for no identifiable reason, then people having small accidents, mostly stubbing toes, hitting heads, gardening tools breaking. Then people were getting cut on gates, or flora with thorns, tripping in holes no one recalled having dug, then became tree branches falling, walls starting to crumble as people walked by. In each incident it's been claimed the cat was sighted at the time it occurred, or right before. When it comes to several under the age of twenty, they've become lost in the gardens, only being found much later, not able to recall exactly where they were or for how long. Most recently, the youngest child broke her foreleg in the gardens, having fallen off a ladder she'd climbed going after fruit in one of the trees.
2. It is not normal, in fact! About the only times people have heard of this previously relates to stories of animals taking vengeance for acts of cruelty perpetuated against them: Puss in Boots, for example.

Question from both of us: Can we play around with the effects of the curse a bit? Say, have our characters get caught up in it and deal with the effects for a bit to give them a harder time?
no subject
Yes, you absolutely can. If you'd like to experience the part that only the matron of the house has been dealing with too, that's possible--she's been having repeated dreams of her childhood, playing around the estate, and childhood friends who played with her. Notably, the only cat in these dreams is an exquisite stuffed cat with a porcelain face and paws, very darling.
The matron wouldn't talk about her dreams since they don't seem related, but the Fairy Godmothers are more than sensitive enough to also start dreaming what she dreams. (Since going the route of also experiencing this particular curse.)
